Vintage Lord & Taylor Children’s Coat & Bonnet 💙

An exceptionally special vintage children’s coat originally retailed through Lord & Taylor Fifth Avenue’s Young People’s Floor in New York. Beautifully tailored in a soft periwinkle-blue textured fabric with a lavender satin lining, this piece has the elegance and craftsmanship that makes vintage children’s clothing so wonderful to collect.

The double-breasted front is finished with six incredible ornate silver-tone buttons with raised detailing, which may be my favorite part of the coat. It also has two fully functional front pockets, one on each side. The original coordinating deep blue velvet bonnet with long ties completes the look and makes this an especially lovely surviving vintage ensemble.

The interior includes a Morris & Morris New York tailoring label, Lord & Taylor label, and an ILGWU union label, all wonderful pieces of its history. Based on the labels, construction, and styling, I believe this piece dates to approximately the 1960s.

Always carefully hand selected for Fairy Baby Vintage and double washed with gentle baby-safe detergent.
